Zitro has announced the renewal of its ISO 14064-1 Standard Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Emissions Management System certification through 2027.
This certification, held by Zitro since 2021, confirms the company’s adherence to international standards for quantifying and reporting GHG emissions and removals.
The ISO 14064-1 standard specifies principles and requirements for managing GHG emissions. Zitro’s recertification followed a February 2024 audit, which verified the company’s compliance with these regulations.
The recertification was officially granted on 1 March 2024. Zitro’s measures to reduce GHG emissions include optimising resource use and promoting sustainability in its operations. The certification covers the carbon footprint of Zitro’s products, ensuring that each production phase meets environmental standards.
Johnny Viveiros Ortiz, Zitro Founder, stated: “This recertification demonstrates our ongoing commitment to effectively managing and reducing greenhouse gas emissions. It reinforces our efforts to minimise our environmental impact and combat climate change while highlighting the transparency and integrity of our environmental practices.”
Earlier this month, Zitro enhanced its sustainability efforts by creating new departments focused on environmental, social and governance (ESG) issues. These include an ESG Corporate Committee, an Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) department and an Integrated Management Systems (IMS) department.
These teams are responsible for integrating sustainability practices across Zitro’s operations and overseeing environmental, health and safety concerns.
The IMS department includes sub-departments such as the ISO Standards Management Office (IMO) and the Climate Change Office (CCO), which ensure that all ESG actions are certified and aligned with relevant ISO standards.
In March 2024, Zitro Digital, the company’s online gaming division, received approval from Peru’s Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism (MINCETUR) to operate as a licensed online slot supplier. This expansion allows Peruvian players to access Zitro’s games through licensed online casinos.
