Wynn Resorts has launched a new exhibit, Wynn Signature – 2024 Hypercar Exhibition, at Wynn Macau and Wynn Palace. Made with support from the Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO), the exhibit will be live until 13 October 2024 and will feature 30 rare, ultra-luxury vehicles with a value of HK$1.5bn (US$190m), with brands including Bugatti, Lamborghini, Aston Martin and McLaren, among others.

The exhibit is free to visit and is part of Wynn’s strategy to encourage tourism both to its resorts and to Macau as a whole. Many of the vehicles have never set foot (or wheel) in Macau before making their debut as part of this latest Wynn Signature collection. Wynn Signature is Wynn’s exclusive lifestyle brand.

The exhibit is part of Macau’s Tourism+ model, with the jurisdiction currently working towards establishing itself as a ‘world center for tourism and leisure.’ Other strategies have also been implemented across the jurisdiction to improve tourism, including the facilitated individual travel (FIT) scheme and the relaxation of travel visas.

On the exhibit, President, Vice Chairman and Executive Director of Wynn Macau Linda Chen said: “‘Wynn Signature’ is dedicated to strengthening and expanding Macao’s position as an international city. As one of the key members in the international hospitality industry, we are committed to showcasing Macao’s unique positioning to a global audience.”

At the exhibit’s launch ceremony, MGTO Acting Director Cheng Wai Tong said: “With MGTO striving to foster diversification of the ‘Tourism +’ offerings, it is pleased to witness tourism operator’s continuing efforts to innovate. The development of tourism services and products targeting the needs of visitors of different profiles coming from diverse markets injects novel elements into Macao’s tourism experience, offering visitors a special and memorable travel experience.”

Diversifying casino revenue beyond just gaming has been a significant point of discussion among operators in Macau and indeed, the governing bodies of Macau. Consider the latest financial results from MGM: Unlike Vegas, where only $485m of the segment’s $2.21bn revenue came from casino gaming (21.9%), for MGM China, $891m of the segment’s $1.02bn revenue came from casino gaming – 87.4%.

This need for diversity follows recovery efforts for the territory post-Covid. Currently, monthly revenue is now beyond that recorded pre-Covid, as seen in Macau’s July 2024 revenue report.

The Tourism+ strategy was also recently discussed between MGM China, Yangzhou and MGTO representatives to enhance Macau’s tourism development.
