The 2024 Travelers Championship reached a fascinating climax on Sunday with a playoff victory for Scottie Scheffler on the final day at TPC River Highlands. Travelers is one of five ‘Signature Events’ on the PGA Tour with a whopping 18% of the total prize purse going to the winner.

This meant that Scheffler bagged a cool $3.6 million for his win, a generous share of the $20 million total purse. The Travelers is one of the most lucrative events on the PGA Tour and money of the world’s best golfers have competed for top spot in Connecticut.

Scheffler, the current world No. 1, beat off competition from Rory McIlroy (No. 2), Xander Schauffele (No. 3), Ludvig Aberg (No. 4) and Wyndham Clark (No. 5) to be crowned Travelers winner for 2024.

Which PGA Tour event has the biggest prize purse?

The Signature Events are generally the biggest earners on the PGA Tour but the Players Championship stands above the rest. Golfers at the Players Championship are competing for a share of a $25 million total prize fund. The winner bags a $4.5 million top prize, also the largest on the tour.
