Robert MacIntyre has become a fan favourite during the 2024 season while looking forward to the Open. He was up and down on Sunday, but managed to win with an incredible eagle at 16 and an impressive birdie on 18 to beat Adam Scott.
MacIntyre picks up a check for $1.575 million.
The hometown win gives MacIntyre tons of confidence before the last major of the year at Royal Troon. The Scottish golfer is in great form and is one of the favorites to win in his home country next week. “The crowd support and support of Scottish people [,,,] has been unbelievable,” he said.

“Bobby” held of McIlroy, Aberg and Scott
Northern Irishman Rory McIlroy also went into the final day with a point to prove after his meltdown at the US Open, but came up short again. “I’ve worked so hard and Mikey has done a great job on the bag and I just stayed in the fight,” he said after winning his second tournament of the year.
MacIntyre kept his composure and proved he isn’t a one-hit-wonder and has serious chances of contending at Royal Troon at the British Open 2024.
